Maximising light flow with extra height doors

The Objectives

Set in rural Cambridgeshire, this commissioned home is a fine example of modern architecture. The client approached Deuren with a goal to achieve the optimum blend of closed, intimate spaces and open-plan living, using doors to perfectly complement this combined interior planning style.

Deuren's Solution

To create a sleek entryway that facilitates light flow into the home, we installed a Vista 1 front door in dark grey, with two glazed laterals. Available in a range of woods, finishes, colours, and glazing options, this beautifully simple design features a large glazed panel that creates a spacious feel, while guaranteeing high security and thermal performance. Here, an anthracite painted finish was applied to the reverse, ensuring aesthetic harmony with the nearby internal doors.

To allow the natural light passageway deeper into the house, Trem Glass internal doors were installed in the corridor, also with an anthracite painted finish. Featuring a large glass panel in the centre, this design offers a light-but-luxurious look and feel - highlighted further by the extra height configuration, made to measure specifically for this project.

Linea was the selected design for the remaining internal doors. The bathroom and closet doors were finished in white paint, while others combine a vertical Grey Oak veneer centre panel and anthracite painted trims to the sides.
