Allowing light to flood a home while protecting privacy

For clients who require it, a careful balancing act can deliver doors that allow in the light but still provide some privacy.  We’ve walked this fine line many times before, so we were confident now that we’d be able to create a bespoke door solution that the client would really love.  Clever use of glazing would clearly be essential, so we put our creative minds to it.

Wisely, the client visited our factory for a close-up look at the design and technology that goes into every Deuren door.  While never essential, we always give clients this opportunity because it often serves as a useful revelation in terms of them seeing just how limitless the possibilities are.  That limitlessness comes from our unique combination of design flair, engineering expertise and state-of-the-art technology, not to mention our access to a staggering variety of high-end materials.

After much discussion, we identified the Gio Glass style as the perfect door for the application.  This model’s specially designed solid timber frame combines with a strong and safe centre panel of glass which allows in exactly the amount of light desired by our client.  A dark finish and satisfyingly simple design give the door an undeniably contemporary look which fitted in perfectly with the rest of this stylish home.
