Blending classic and contemporary through the application of brickwork and modern lines
Situated in a remote rural area between Chester and Wrexham, our client’s new-build property blends classic and contemporary styling through a clever application of traditional brickwork and modern lines. The brief for this project was to create unique bespoke doors for the entire home: products that would help enhance the property’s natural flow as well as looking fantastic.
Most of this home’s doorways follow standard doorway dimensions, but two of them don’t, instead requiring a highly bespoke solution: always music to our ears. As a design-led business, we thrive on creating unique custom products that answer every requirement of a brief. It’s all part and parcel of our pursuit of perfection.
After an initial site visit and extensive consultation with both our Commercial Manager and Managing Director, we designed, crafted and supplied the client with a grand total of 13 high-quality interior doors, for installation across two floors of his beautiful home. The project included the creation of one particularly special door which actually comprised a pair of narrow yet extra-tall doors. Meanwhile, elsewhere we created and fitted a stunning yet discreet slide-away ‘pocket’ door, easy and enjoyable to operate despite its impressive size and weight.
The project also involved an important element of innovation, since we devised a stunning new decorative finish for the doors: one which complemented subtle yet charming surface patterns seen elsewhere in the home. To do this, we worked closely with the client and with our own in-house veneer specialist, eventually settling on a satisfying use of vertical and horizontal lay-ons, cleverly held into place using our signature invisible ‘behind stitching’. The discreet linear patterns we’ve achieved here work beautifully with those seen in areas of flooring and on counter-sides within the home, really helping to unify the overall look as well as adding interest through detail. Last but not least, our impressive, oversized architraves contribute to the home’s overall sense of grandeur. This really is a property with undeniable wow factor.
