Ensuring a coherent style between internal and front doors
Working with clients who know what they want and whose expectations and standards are particularly high never intimidates us. Far from it. In fact, projects like this are exactly the kind of challenge we love to rise to.
We worked extremely closely with our client in order to deliver the levels of detail and perfection required by this project. This close collaboration began from the word go, starting with our initial consultation and continuing through the build, finishing and installation of our doors.
In terms of our products, indoors we created bespoke doors from our Olivo and Trem designs, using a clean, minimal design and neutral painted finish look to complement their surroundings perfectly. Here’s the clever thing, though: while some doors complemented their surroundings by blending in seamlessly, others complemented theirs by becoming the stand-out feature of a particular wall.
Of course, all of the internal doors worked well with the highly bespoke external front door, itself a stunning bespoke creation based on our Olivo SI design. Here, horizontal concrete panels are divided by narrow metallic strips – all beautifully proportioned. Meanwhile, a sleek steel handle runs the entire 2m height of the door – unusual and eye-catching in equal measure, yet still eminently appropriate in its context. A vertical glass panel allows light into the entranceway too.
In all, five distinct material textures make up this front door, forming a marked contrast with the home’s exterior red brick and wooden slats. It’s a fascinating mix; one which adds undeniable visual and tactile interest as well as uniqueness off the scale.
Ultimately, every last detail of each door was carefully considered, creating a wonderfully coherent overall effect and an irresistible sense of luxury.
“Our brief was very specific and out of the ordinary, so we were counting on Deuren being happy to embrace it. I’m delighted to say they were! The finished doors are functional and high quality, but they’re also stylistically unique in their own ways. Despite this, they really work well together, achieving exactly the look we wanted.”
