A luxury replacement door with two different veneers either side

Our ability to create something suitable was never in question, since our client had previously commissioned us to design and craft their property’s internal doors and was delighted with the results. These Vario 4 doors were finished in Eucalyptus 26, and it was important that the new front door would work well alongside these products and match the overall aesthetic of the home’s inviting entrance, both inside and out. A door featuring two very different sides was the natural solution and one we sometimes gently encourage clients to opt for.
Ever mindful of the need to combine form and function, we recommended the Versare entrance door for this particular project. The external side of the door is finished in warm and welcoming honey oak, which perfectly complements similar finishes on wooden features just visible through the glazed panels either side of the entryway. Meanwhile, two effortlessly stylish plant pots bring a fun pop of colour to the doorstep scene.

We finished the inside face of the door using the same Eucalyptus 26 finish found on the property’s internal Vario 4 doors. While this finish provides an appealingly satisfying match to those internal doors, it also pulls off a clever contrast to the tonal warmth of the external approach to this property. Arriving at the home, one passes from a mood of inviting warmth into a space whose cool sophistication promotes a calming sense of serenity.
On both sides of the front door, natural wood grain and minimal lined patterns help unify the overall look – one of understated simplicity and undeniable modernity. This look is enhanced by the absence of a handle on the door’s external side and the choice of a clean, geometric handle style inside: a handle whose straight lines and right angles nicely mirror those of the door’s internal panel lines.
