Bespoke secret doors for a sensational interior design

Being given the chance to dream up breathtaking bespoke designs is great, but the real challenge is in being able to reconcile stunning concepts and aesthetics with doors that stand the test of time and are always a joy to use.  Luckily for us, we’ve been doing exactly this for many years, on behalf of dozens of satisfied clients. This project just needed us to do it at scale.

Creating truly bespoke doors means endless possibilities, which is exactly why our skills in design and innovation came in handy. We began with a puzzle-inspired bespoke secret door, which effortlessly pivots either way for opening, then seamlessly ‘disappears’ within its host wall when closed.

We also produced a breathtaking solid wood and resin door which works in perfect harmony with the room’s prevailing live edge/river aesthetic. This door’s pippy oak and dark resin add to the harmony, while the use of varying depths and materials lends extra detail and interest to this intriguing work of artistry. Even the unique Phillip Watts handle manages to further elevate this door, and it perfectly mimics two others used in double-leaf doors into the property’s home cinema.  Staying with the cinema doors, we used LED lighting embedded into the frame to evoke a more ‘real’ cinema experience.

Elsewhere, Uccio-style internal doors complete this wide-ranging project, using contrasting horizontal and vertical grains to disrupt the uniformity and add that all-important element of difference and interest. Overall, this project gave us a superb opportunity to showcase the design skills we’re renowned for, all in the name of our signature pursuit of perfection.

“The team’s creativity was amazing, especially how they used so many different techniques and materials to create doors that are all original and unique in their own stunning ways.  Crucially, they’ve added extra wow factor to our home, endlessly delighting us but also giving visitors a succession of surprises as they move around the building. All in all, Deuren couldn’t have delivered more.”
