Elegant door designs for an ambitious Grand Designs build

With quality and intricacy absolute musts, it was clear we’d need to draw upon all of our design flair and engineering expertise to do justice to this project, hailed as one of the TV show’s most ambitious.

We worked as closely as ever with the client to design and recommend a selection of doors, each with its own distinct features that would lend weight to the property’s remarkable uniqueness and peerless standard of build.  Trem glass internal doors perfectly complement glazed and glass features found elsewhere in the home, while their central glass panels’ ability to help the flow of natural light only added to the appeal. We also installed Vario 3 doors with a 3-way veneer in a natural oak finish, one even configured as a barn-style door in two halves, capable of being opened all as one, or top half only to help contain the client’s dogs.

Interestingly, we specified different glass types in different doors, using both clear and satin (frosted) glass to help add visual interest and provide a degree of privacy when necessary.  It’s creative touches like this that help us deliver even the most particular or nuanced elements of any brief, always with a view to making sure every client’s wishes are perfectly catered for. Indeed, when it comes to glass and glazing, we can even integrate bespoke bevelled or etched panes into our doors, achieving next-level luxury few manufacturers can match.

Overall, this was an unusually exacting project of the type we love to take on, never remotely fazed by the prospect of having our work televised thanks to a confidence borne of our unrivalled experience

“For a project this personal yet high-profile we needed a partner who would really understand how important it was to get just right: Deuren won us over very quickly.  In the end, their advice and support proved invaluable to the finished build, which easily delivers all the intricacy, detail and uniqueness we wanted while remaining eminently practical too – even for our dogs! We couldn’t have asked for more.”
