Matching doors to complement original features within the home
Already fans of dark, rich and patterned woods, it was clear from the start of this project that the client wanted us to embrace this preference and create a set of doors that worked well with their home’s existing woodwork, namely the skirtings and staircase.
We based our solution on a mix of doors models, each one perfectly appropriate for its specific location and job. Trem Glass, Vario 4 and Pianura 2 doors were meticulously made to order, each one to the exacting standards and tolerances which underpins all of our work.
A Pianura 2 front door is an inviting white on the outside and walnut on the reverse, and features generous side laterals to allow in plenty of natural daylight. Moving deeper into the property, an impressive Trem Glass double door makes the most of this light, allowing in copious amounts right to the heart of the building.
The walnut finish is full of character and perfectly matches the internal woodwork found elsewhere in the home’s interior – an interior light enough to easily carry off the new doors’ dark finish. Meanwhile, the combination of double and single hinged configurations helps deliver not just aesthetic consistency but also superb functionality. This is a key consideration for us, never ones to sacrifice design and performance for the sake of good looks, since we believe both are always eminently achievable.
In the pursuit of perfection we’re renowned for, we even fitted the front door with a state-of-the-art fingerprint scanner lock for easy keyless entry during quick comings and goings. Using it is entirely optional, of course, since this particular door also offers reassuringly conventional lock and key security. Even the garage door was carefully considered, in this case matching the front door for added coherence and kerb appeal.
“From start to finish Deuren were easy to work with, and we loved the way they listened closely to our brief and respected its demands. Now our home feels far more complete and consistent, as though the doors help it come together in a way that’s really natural. The extra light is a bonus too, lifting the mood and helping showcase other features.”
