Maximising light flow with extra tall glass doors
The flow of natural light was a huge consideration for this project. We also knew that its success would draw heavily on our ability to work closely with a client and their space to achieve a ‘perfect fit’ interior: one where all the different elements come together in a sublime and satisfying harmony. This is a breathtaking property by anyone’s standards, yet we were certain our expertise and creativity could elevate it further.
On the basis of close consultation with the client, we devised a highly customised solution that managed to thoroughly fulfil the brief. We began by installing a dark grey Vista front door featuring two glazed laterals, which together helped create a feeling of spaciousness. The door’s inherent simplicity suited the entrance’s overall aesthetic, while its thermal performance and high level of security were two additional welcome benefits. The internal side of the door has an anthracite finish in keeping with the home’s other internal doors.
In the corridor, Trem glass internal doors were an obvious choice for enabling the passageway’s natural light to penetrate deeper into the home. The doors’ extensive central panel of glass cleverly conjures a look and feel simultaneously light yet luxurious, a quality accentuated by their elongated custom heights, bespoke for this project. Meanwhile, other internal doors are our Linea design, flawlessly finished in white paint for the bathroom and closet, and elsewhere in the home finished with a beautiful centre panel of vertical grey oak veneer, paired with anthracite painted trims.
Overall, the end result is unified, stunning and – thanks to the intelligent deployment of natural light – eminently and enjoyably liveable. A deserving addition to our portfolio.
