Sophistication through a minimalist aesthetic
Unsurprisingly, given our considerable design skills, clients often want ‘feature’ doors that will themselves be a point of visual interest and discussion. In a minimalist interior like this, the challenge is to create products that tick that particular box while complementing – rather than undermining – the simplicity of their surroundings. It’s a very fine line to tread, but it’s something we’ve managed to achieve in many of our projects.
We made and installed four beautiful Vario 4 doors, all in our wonderfully calming and contemporary grey oak finish on one side, with matching architraves for a look that’s harmonious and understated. Greys like this are an increasingly popular choice among our customers, and this project is a great illustration why. The doors themselves ‘pop’ wonderfully against the unobtrusive neutrality of the skirting’s white, effortlessly creating an atmosphere that’s cooly contemporary and with a keen sense of flow.
The reverse side of each door is finished in a colour that perfectly complements the prevalent scheme of its adjoining room. We love offering options and flexibility like this because it’s all part of the Deuren brand’s devotion to perfection: wherever possible giving clients precisely what they ask for, however niche their need.
The Vario 4 door itself is made to the same exacting standards as all of our bespoke doors, with beautifully engineered hardware and a multitude of options in terms of those all-important details like handles and hinges. On the face of it, this set of four doors is one of the simplest-looking sets we’ve created, but their appearance belies the careful consideration that went into them and the finer points of their final design. We think the end result’s sublime simplicity and aesthetic appropriateness really speaks for itself.
